Refund Policy

Our approach
If a reading didn't land for you, write to hello@tryvidya.app. We review every request individually and are generous when the situation calls for it. We do not advertise a fixed-window guarantee — but we are not in the business of charging people for things they didn't enjoy.
How to request a refund
- Email
hello@tryvidya.appfrom the address associated with your TryVidya account. - Include your order number (it's on the Stripe receipt email) or the approximate date of purchase.
- You do not need to give a reason. "I'd like a refund" is enough.
We typically confirm within 1 business day and issue the refund within 3 business days. Stripe handles the actual refund back to your original payment method; depending on your bank or card network, the funds can take an additional 5–10 business days to appear on your statement.
Subscriptions (Vidya Oracle)
For subscription renewals: we do not issue prorated refunds for mid-period cancellations. You can cancel anytime from the dashboard; the subscription remains active until the end of the current period, and you will not be billed again.
If you believe a renewal was charged by mistake (e.g., you thought you had cancelled, or the renewal email was missed), please contact us within a reasonable time and we will review it case-by-case — we'd rather be fair than rigid.
Chargebacks
If something is wrong, please contact us first — we almost always resolve it quickly. Initiating a chargeback with your bank before reaching out to us may cause us to temporarily suspend your account pending investigation, which is painful for everyone involved. Direct communication is faster and friendlier.
Failed payments (subscriptions)
If an automatic renewal fails (expired card, insufficient funds, etc.):
- We retry the charge up to three times over roughly a week.
- After the third failed attempt, we cancel the subscription and send a re-engagement email so you know what happened.
- No refund is due in this flow because no successful charge occurred.
Fraud and abuse
We reserve the right to decline or reverse refunds in cases of evident fraud, abuse of the refund process (for example, repeatedly purchasing and refunding the same product), or breaches of the Terms of Service. We will explain our reasoning in writing if we decline.
Your statutory rights
Nothing in this policy limits your statutory rights under EU consumer-protection law (notably the 14-day right of withdrawal under Directive 2011/83/EU, where it applies) or under Romanian law.
