Terms of Service

1. Who we are

TryVidya is an online astrology service operated by JBA WEB AGENCY SRL (CUI 45013493, Nr. Reg. Com. J2021003372228), a company registered in Romania. You can reach us at hello@tryvidya.app.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and us. By creating an account or making a purchase on TryVidya, you accept these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

2. What we provide

TryVidya offers:

• Natal chart calculations computed locally with arc-second precision.
• AI-generated interpretations narrated in the voice of Master Thaddeus, an AI character.
• Cosmic Portrait imagery — AI-generated portraits.
• PDF chart readings for offline keepsake.
• Vidya Oracle — optional monthly subscription with recurring daily guidance and premium features.

3. Eligibility

• You must be at least 16 years old to use TryVidya. This reflects the age of digital consent in Romania (GDPR Art. 8 and Law 190/2018).
• If you are under 18, you need your parent or legal guardian's consent before making any paid purchase.
• You must provide accurate information when creating an account, and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account.

4. AI disclosure (important)

Master Thaddeus is an AI-generated character. All chart interpretations, portraits, and readings produced by TryVidya are generated by AI models and are intended for entertainment and personal reflection only.

They are not a substitute for professional advice from a qualified medical, legal, financial, or mental-health professional. Do not make important life decisions based solely on what a chart reading says.

We work hard to make the readings thoughtful, accurate to the astronomical inputs, and safe — but they remain AI-generated content.

5. Accounts

• Sign up with email + password (minimum 8 characters; passwords are stored only as a secure hash) or via Google OAuth / Facebook OAuth.
• Email verification is required before you can sign in with an email/password account. OAuth accounts inherit verification from the provider.
• You may link multiple sign-in methods to the same account when the email matches and is verified.
• We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, abuse the service, or use TryVidya for unlawful purposes.

6. Payments and pricing

One-time purchases (prices in US dollars; Stripe displays the local-currency equivalent at checkout):

• Deep Reading — $4.99
• Cosmic Portrait — $6.99
• Bundle (Deep Reading + Cosmic Portrait) — $9.99

Vidya Oracle subscription — pricing and billing cadence as listed on /[locale]/pricing at the time of purchase.

All prices are inclusive of any applicable VAT where required by law. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never store or see your card number. Receipts are emailed automatically.

7. Refunds

Refund requests are reviewed case-by-case. See the full Refund Policy. Your statutory rights under EU consumer law (Directive 2011/83/EU) and Romanian law are unaffected.

8. Subscription cancellation

• You may cancel your Vidya Oracle subscription at any time from your dashboard (managed via the Stripe Customer Portal).
• After cancellation, your subscription remains active until the end of the current billing period. We do not prorate refunds for mid-period cancellation.
• If a renewal payment fails, we retry three times over seven days and then cancel the subscription and send a re-engagement email.

9. Acceptable use

You agree NOT to:

• Scrape, crawl, or harvest content from TryVidya by automated means, except as expressly permitted by robots.txt.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract our prompt templates, calculation pipeline, or model outputs.
• Resell, sublicense, or redistribute chart interpretations, portraits, or PDFs to third parties for commercial gain.
• Abuse our AI endpoints — free-tier limits apply (currently 3 anonymous summaries/hour and 10 summaries/day per authenticated account); we may tighten these limits to protect the service.
• Use the service for unlawful purposes, to harass others, or to generate content that violates our AI providers' acceptable-use policies.
• Bypass rate limits, authentication, or billing mechanisms.

10. Intellectual property

• All software, copy, imagery, branding, and prompt templates that power TryVidya are © TryVidya. All rights reserved.
• Chart interpretations, Cosmic Portraits, and PDF readings generated for you are licensed to you for personal, non-commercial use. You may save them, print them, and share them with friends. You may not resell them or use them as input to train another AI model.
• TryVidya retains copyright in the underlying prompt templates, system prompts, and AI outputs. The license to you is a use-license, not an assignment of copyright.
• User-submitted content (e.g., birthplace queries, feedback) remains yours; you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free license to use it to provide and improve the service.

11. Disclaimers

• Astrology is offered for entertainment and personal reflection only. TryVidya makes no claim that astrological readings are scientifically validated or predict real-world events.
• The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind — express or implied — to the fullest extent permitted by law. This includes warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement.
• We are not responsible for decisions you make based on chart readings.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Romanian and EU law, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to TryVidya is capped at the greater of:

• The total amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or
• USD 20.

We are not liable for any indirect, consequential, incidental, special, or punitive damages (including lost profits, lost data, or loss of goodwill), even if we were advised of the possibility of such damages.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot be lawfully excluded.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by Romanian law. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or TryVidya will be resolved by the competent courts of Iași, Romania, except that if you are a consumer resident in another EU member state, you retain the right to bring proceedings in the courts of your home jurisdiction as permitted by EU consumer-protection law.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make a material change, we will notify you by email and via a banner on the site at least 14 days before the change takes effect. If you do not agree with the revised Terms, you can close your account before they take effect; continuing to use TryVidya after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

Minor editorial updates (typo fixes, clarifications) may be made without notice; the Effective date at the top of this page always reflects the latest revision.
